On November 5, 2010, I am hosting my second event at Space Gallery SF. After the great success of Moon Babies: A One-Night Experimentation of Paper, Film & Sound, I wanted to keep building on the theme of emerging local artists. My next event, City Dolls, celebrates young SF women who are making big moves in the business of looking pretty. It will be an evening of fashion, live modeling, music, inspiration and friends. Check out our press release for more details!

SAN FRANCISCO DESIGNER, BECKY JANE HARRINGTON, JOINS

WITH STYLIST KELLE SCHLAX FOR “CITY DOLLS” FASHION EVENT

Becky Jane Harrington debuts her spring fashion line at Space Gallery, SF

San Francisco, CA - Please join us for City Dolls: a one-night fashion event celebrating vanguard women of the Bay Area’s fashion industry at Space Gallery SF (1141 Polk St. @ Sutter) on November 5, 2010 from 8pm-12am. Admission is free.

The fashion designs of Becky Jane Harrington are an intersection of contemporary practicality and the classic sophistication of the 60s. Becky Jane calls for a return to the fashion ideology of 50 years ago when every garment, accessory, and handbag was paired with intention for a calculated ensemble. This designer cuts her own patterns and hand-sews each garment with intention: the fabric, patterns, colors, pleats, zippers and buttons are mindfully combined for an artful, one-of-a-kind piece. While studying fashion design at San Francisco’s Apparel Arts, Becky Jane’s garments are already due for a winter feature in Bride & Groom Magazine.

Reinterpreting the runway, each City Doll will be displayed in a carefully orchestrated environment where throwback furniture and retro props create a vibrant narrative. Authentic vintage accessories by Cyrstal Arrias, handmade jewelry by Sally Lorenz, and styling by Kelle Schlax foster a rich visual stage for fashion, art, and performance to mingle playfully. Kelle Schlax has 10 years styling experience and has been featured on Bay Area NBC for her fashion show, D-Stricts, at San Francisco’s D-Structure.

Join us on November 5, 2010 from 8pm-midnight at San Francisco’s Space Gallery to celebrate The City’s up-and-coming female artists and their romance with the handmade. City Dolls’ multi-sensory installation includes live dj set by Satans Helpers and textile sculptures by Bay Area artist, Jude Swafford. Admission is free.
